This was my third tattoo and probably the most meaningful to me.

I adore Marilyn Monroe, I think she was a very inspiring woman for her time. The quote I have on my leg is:
“I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure.
I make mistakes. I am out of control
and at times hard to handle.
But if you can’t handle me at my worst
then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”

This is just a reminder that I am not perfect, but that is why I should embrace it, as no one is. I have my bad moments and good moments and if people aren’t going to stick around through them, then they sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.

“Fear of Falling”

Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.

If I’m going to put words on my body, I want people to be able to read it easily and understand it. This phrase truly speaks to me. It inspires me every time I read it, and I want it to inspire other people too. I decided to have it tattooed on my body so everyone I meet, whether Sandman fan or not, could draw inspiration from it as I have. :)

I was born in the month of May when the cherry blossoms start to bloom. Part of my Vietnamese name “Xuan” also means springtime. I wanted a different, more realistic take on the cherry blossoms rather than the traditional ones. This motherfucker hurt like a bitch, especially being on the ribs. This amazing rib panel piece was done at Electro Lady Lux in Vancouver, BC by Hilary Dawson.

This is my sixth tattoo, and certainly the one I like best. I always liked peanuts, and I identify a lot with Charlie. And of course, I have those friends who are always around. Just as these three. Not exactly a story behind. I just love it and makes me feel good knowing I have this in my body for life.
